Lesson 8.4Two at a time, broadcast to everybody, and the moment a viewer can act.
Prefer to listen? This is the same lesson, word for word. The text below is the transcript.
This lesson prepares you to: Use both pin slots deliberately and know what a pin does and does not do to stock.
Pinning a staged product sends the full product card to every connected viewer immediately. This is the buy this now moment, and it is the only action in the whole live selling feature that reaches a viewer's screen.
Unpinning sends the matching event to take it away.
You can hold 2 pins at a time. A third is refused with You can pin up to 2 products at once. The limit mirrors the product list pin on the platform Helm is competing with.
Two slots is a real constraint on how you run a show. The obvious use is one item you are actively talking about and one you have just finished with, so somebody who was reaching for their phone still has it in front of them. Pinning something new pushes nothing off automatically, so you have to unpin deliberately.
Re-pinning something that is already pinned does not count against the limit and does not fail.
A pin is presentation. It does not reserve inventory, does not warn you about low stock, and does not stop you pinning something with none left.
A shopper tapping buy on a pinned product with zero stock will be refused at checkout like any other out of stock item. Check your stock before you pin, because Helm will not.
The pin carries the product card as your listing has it: the cover image, the title and the price, including any live flash sale discount, which is recomputed on the server rather than taken from anything the page holds.
Which means your cover image and title are doing all the work in the one moment somebody decides. Track 2 lesson 2.5 is worth rereading before your first show.
The endpoints that list a stream's staged and pinned products do not check who is asking. Anyone with a stream id can read the full product list of a private or family only show, without signing in. It does not expose orders or buyers, but if you are planning an unannounced drop, the list is readable before you announce it.
